Local Transport and Logistics
In Viết Nam, goods can be transported in a huge variety of ways: in backpacks or on the shoulders, on bicycles or motor scooters. Fruits and vegetables can be loaded onto a yoke of bamboos and taken onto buses and ferries, and even going up flight of stairs. A hammock stretched on bamboo poles between two bicycles becomes a rural ambulance, making it possible to ride along the tops of dykes between paddy fields, where a vehicle with wheels in the front would be too wide to get through.
A double-decker rack covered in chicken-wire becomes a hen house for delivering live birds. A bamboo frame can be used for hanging all types of plastic household utensils and cookware to be sold in the narrow streets. Ingenuity is used to solve any problem, no matter how simple or complicated.
